The cost for a talented youth soccer player to compete can exceed several thousand dollars per year, a price tag many players simply cannot afford. In addition to the youth pay-to-play system pricing players out, lack of parental knowledge and involvement and transportation challenges act as hidden barriers to entry to players from low-income or under privileged families.
